Current Activities

Summer Sandlot League

REGISTRATION is on THURSDAY, JUNE 11 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM & 4:30-6:30 PM at City Hall Park.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Recreation Department will be changing baseball & softball programs for the 2020 summer. The goal of Summer Sandlot is to give kids the opportunity to experience the joy of playing the game of baseball or softball without traveling outside of Wray. Players will show up at designated times. Skills will be taught and scrimmages will be played one day per week. There will not be any umpires. Players will be separated by the volunteer coaches each day. Teams/groups will not always be the same week to week. The oldest baseball & softball groups will now go up to age 18 for the sandlot league. Cost has been reduced and shirts will not be provided. We will have an option to order a Summer Sandlot shirt once the season starts and a form for that will go out at a later date. Pictures will not be taken this year.

Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs, to spread out and sit outside the fence around the entire field (including the outfield). Please maintain 6ft. social distancing unless sitting with immediate family. All facilities will be sanitized on a regular basis. Dugouts may be utilized but social distancing will be enforced. Bleachers will be closed. All equipment will be sanitized after each group finishes. It is strongly encouraged to use your own personal equipment whenever possible. Self-monitoring is essential. If you are not feeling well or running a temp above 100, please stay home.

Summer Sandlot will start the week of June 22 and will run for 6 weeks. Cost will be $10.
