The goal of the Wray Recreation Department’s Youth Programs are to provide instruction, development, and personal growth in a fun and safe environment. We strive to teach kids the skills needed to succeed while developing an appreciation for their particular activity.
Our objective is to create an environment where all kids can learn and grow as well as develop life-long skills and sportsmanship that will be utilized during their youth and beyond.
Call for Wray Recreation Advisory Committee
The City of Wray Recreation Advisory Committee is a volunteer group of local citizens who voice the community's recreation needs and provide support to the Recreation Department, City Administration, and City Council. The committee's vision is founded on the belief that physical well-being is an important part of a high quality of life and vibrant community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the review and evaluation of past and current recreation programming, make recommendations regarding the operation, improvement, and maintenance of the City’s recreation programs and facilities, and serve as a voice of the community to bridge a dialogue between city government and our citizens. The committee will consist of seven (7) members, six (6) citizens, or residents, and one (1) City Council representative that will be appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the City Council. The Recreation Advisory Committee includes city recreation and administrative staff, who serve as non-voting ex officio members.
The City of Wray is accepting letters of interest that describe the reason for interest, qualifications, and related experiences for the City of Wray Recreation Advisory Committee. Letters of interest should be submitted to the City of Wray, Attn: James DePue, P.O. Box 35, Wray, CO 80758 no later than 12:00pm local time, February 13, 2024.
